Reading a Grade Label

The "M" stands for Mix, and the number after it is the 28-day compressive strength in MPa (N/mm²). M20 means the concrete is designed to carry 20 MPa once fully cured — the higher the number, the more load the mix can bear.

Four Grade Families

Regular Concrete (M10–M25) — fixed cement : sand : aggregate ratio for everyday structural work
Design Mix Concrete (M30–M50) — lab-proportioned for RCC, footings and mid-rise structures
